CALL FOR POSTERS!
2006 Gender Across Borders II Poster Contest
April 22nd, 2006
The Gender Institute is pleased to announce that a poster display will accompany our 2006 graduate symposium: Gender Across Borders II: Research Subjects. We invite all graduate students to present their work - research, scholarship, innovative courses, or best practices on topics related to women, gender and/or sexual differences.
This forum is designed to enable emerging researchers to highlight the role that gender or sex differences play in their research, methodology, sampling of populations, designs, results, etc. In addition to current projects, we very much encourage retrospective analyses of completed projects, presentations and research in progress (dissertations, thesis work, experiments, etc.). We are also interested in descriptions of future research based on an explicit focus on gender and/or sex differences.
Emerging Women Scientists and Engineers whose work does not explicitly discuss gender are welcome and encouraged to present their current research in this poster display.
Poster-prizes will be awarded to outstanding poster displays in the exhibit accompanying the symposium. An interdisciplinary panel of UB faculty judges will select and announce the winners of the prizes on April 22nd, 2006. Winners will be announced prior to Dr. Molly Carnes’s keynote address.
The symposium organizers welcome proposals for panels, individual papers and poster displays from all disciplines. Abstracts should be included in the body of an email (NO ATTATCHMENTS PLEASE) sent to
adspain@buffalo.edu or submitted online at genderbuffalo.org, and must not exceed 300 words. Please include a short bio of 200 words.
Deadline for Abstracts of Posters: April 1st, 2006.
