This concert-lecture by Professor Deborah Chung is part of the events surrounding the visit to UB by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama -

Chung passionately integrates science and music to inspire audiences to pursue life with purpose and to study science. This is the first presentation at UB, though Chung has reached over 10,000 people with this work. The music will include piano and choral pieces. A science background is not required.
Dr. Chung is the National Grid Endowed Chair Professor of Materials Research, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, at the University at Buffalo.
She received her Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of technology, and has her piano performance diploma from the Royal School of Music, UK. She is the first woman in America to receive the Pettinos Award, a triennial international award to recognize an individual for outstanding research accomplishments in carbon science and technology.
"The Road to Scientific Success: Inspiring Life Stories of Prominent Researchers" is edited by Dr. Chung. There will be a book signing and reception following the concert-lecture.
