Each year many great films that were originally featured at film festivals are nominated for Oscars; however, many other equally deserving films are passed over because they are never released commercially.  Most of the public misses seeing these important films except for those of us fortunate enough to attend international film festivals where these brilliant pieces shine.

Donate online to the Gender Institute!  We are the only research institution in Buffalo dedicated exclusively to the study of women and gender.  Your tax-deductible donations allow us to expand our research and programs, linking you with the international community of women and gender scholars. 

  • $150 buys a PATRON AD in an annual International Women's Film Festival program book;
  • $200 pays for a conference travel grant for a graduate student;
  • $1000 pays for a visiting scholar to lecture at UB;
  • $3000 pays for a New Course Development Award or Research Award to increase gender-focused curricula or sex-specific research;
  • $5000 pays for a Graduate Student Symposium on Gender;
  • $10,000 will pay for one rung in a future endowed Chair of Research on Women and Gender.
