The 2008 festival features narrative and documentary works that frame women’s embodiment in
military culture, plastic surgery, popular culture, dance and poetry,
pregnancy, cultural expectations, and historical intrigue. Several of
this year’s films are poignant coming-of-age tales that illuminate how
women balance these challenges as they enter adulthood.
The International Women's Film Festival brings films to Western New
York that offer intelligent entertainment with multicultural
perspectives on such topics as gender relations, culture, identity, and
political activism.
