Hester Eisenstein, 2005 Gail Paradise Kelly Lecture PDF Print E-mail

HESTER EISENSTEIN, Professor of Sociology, Queens College, is the author of, among other titles, Contemporary Feminist Thought and Inside Agitators: Australian Femocrats and the State. She was a professor of Women's Studies at UB in the 1980's and 90's, and helped bring the Gender Institute into being. Her current research and teaching focus is on gender and globalization in relation to the international women's movement. She will speak on "Feminism in the Face of Empire: Complicity or Resistance?"

The Gail Paradise Kelly Memporial Lecture Series was established in memory of Gail Kelly, Professor of comparative Education, by alumna Grace Mak, family, friends, and alumni, and is devoted to the exploration of feminism and education from an international perspective.  
Sponsored by the Department of Women's Studies, Just Buffalo Literary Center, Inc., and the Graduate School of Education, and the Gender Institute.
